NASA 2024 Lunabotics Challenge
UIC Lunabotics achieved dre..e..e..eam when claimed three awards at NASA Lunabotics Challenge 2024. Awards include:
- Innovation Technology Award
- 5th place Caterpillar Autonomy Award
- The Mission Control "Failure is Not an Option Award for Team Persistence"
Before entering the final round at Kennedy Space Center, the team conquered the qualifying round at University of Central Florida with rank 1st, beating strong teams like Univesity of Alabama and Iowa State. Check out article and posts of NASA people and our school who like us:
SUAS 2024 Competition
Team Air competed in the SUAS 2024 competition, where they created a successful Technical Design Review video showcasing their drone's capabilities despite some crashes and circuit issues. The team’s effort demonstrated their drone’s robustness and advancements over previous years. Although they were disqualified from the mission round for not meeting the 5-mile flight requirement, they developed a drone that performs significantly better in terms of distance, height, and endurance.
