Futures Unlimited

UIC Lunabotics partnered with Oakton College to run the Futures Unlimited event, which is an annual day-long event that aims to introduce girls and non-identifying middle schoolers to the STEM field. During the event, the team hosted a workshop that focused on teaching the students about Tinkercad, how to construct a light-detection circuit, and how it could be utilized in NASA’s Artemis mission such as in determining solar panel placement.
Evanston Township High School STEM Workshops

UIC Lunabotics organized a series of STEM workshops and presentations to high schoolers at Evanston Township High School. The first part of the event was a presentation on NASA’s Artemis Mission, In Situ Resource Utilization, and the NASA Lunabotics Competition, while the second part was several workshops focusing on topics such as electronics and soldering, coding and computer vision, and 3D printing. UIC team also shared their STEM journeys with the students.
STEM Fest 2022 at Northern Illinois University

UIC Team Air and Stella showcased their robots at STEM Fest 2022 at Northern Illinois University. The robot exhibition follows the MRDC competition rule where robots enter the arena to collect balls and sort their colors. Audiences ranging from high school and college students to parents and grandparents were inspired and enjoyed heavy robots battling each other in the arena.
